Sixteen Candles

It is so hard for me to believe how fast the time has gone. It only seems like yesterday that my oldest Zach was born and now he has turned 16. What a blessing he has been to our family. He is developing into such a fine young man and we love him and are so proud of him.

We had a birthday weekend for Zach...and when I say weekend, I mean the WHOLE weekend.

The night of his birthday was good fun. Zach had a band performance and so he was not able to attend the father and sons campout. After he finished with band I asked him what he would like to do. We went and grabbed his free birthday meal at Paradiso's and then invited his friends to come over. Can I just say that I am so grateful for the friends that surround him? He has been so blessed with good friends who have high standards and help make it easier to choose the right.

One of his friends brought over a small cake for Zach and we loaded it with all 16 candles. We also enjoyed pizza and rootbeer floats. A great BIG thanks to his friends for being so wonderful and for helping Zach to feel special. Becky, Zach, and Zack

Saturday Zach had to work for the majority of the day but when we got home we had our family celebration. I love the fact that my kids like cream cheese desserts over cake...so much more yummy and easy to make.

Opening the presents Sunday Zach was ordained a Priest and hopefully I will remember to take a picture of him before church this coming Sunday as it will be his first time to bless the sacrament. We invited several families over to eat a meal in celebration of this special ordination. Oh how I wish our yard and budget were larger so that we could have invited the whole ward. It felt so good to do this as it reminded us of the good ol' times when we used to gather with friends and family to celebrate the happenings in our childrens life.
