With the holidays come the fun experiences of going to Christmas concerts. All but Macie have had a concert for us to attend. Unfortunately we did not take our camera along to Zach and Blake's but they both did an outstanding job in their band concerts. The music program here is very good and Blake especially loves his band teacher.
Cody's 6th grade class put on a "Rock" concert! Cody was hush hush before the concert. His sisters had seen it earlier in the day and he was threatening them NOT to tell me what was going to be happening. As our family sat in our seats waiting for Cody's class to come on stage it took us by surprise when the class started to appear. Most of them were in costume and when I saw Cody, I couldn't hold in my giggles. He was representing Elvis and had a wig on that was hilarious! He was such a good sport throughout the entire concert. He is one who knows how to perform and when it came time for his part he did not let the crowd down!! He did the worm across the stage and danced his little heart out.
I was so pleased with his good attitude and his ability to not be shy in front of an audience. He did an outstanding job!
Last night was Erin's orchestra concert and boy was it a jam packed crowd!! I could not believe the support by families for this event. It was a good thing to see. This was Erin's first appearance playing her violin. Her group did a very good job. It was interesting to see how the orchestra groups got smaller and smaller with each performing grade.
After the concert I asked Erin if she planned on continuing playing the violin. Her answer was a very strong, "YES!" I noticed the gift of music in Erin from a very young age. It would not surprise me to see her go on to college and participate in the music programs that college offer. Perhaps the day may even come when she will be able to play with the Orchestra on Temple Square. Now that is a dream I'd like to see fulfilled!!!
