We had a fun family home evening this past Monday and I thought I would pass the idea along. Maybe you have done this before but it was our first and I wish I would have taken a picture or two to share.
I gave each of my children $2 to spend on our meal. We then went to the store and went our separate ways in search of what we could find that was less then the two bucks. It was interesting to see what each person chose. I was kind of expecting a couple packages of cookies or bags of chips but we didn't get any! This is what we ended up with: mini-eggrolls, tostada shells with a small can of refried beans, Dora chicken noodle soup, grapes, grapefruit, ramen noodles with lime juice to squeeze on the noodles (very interesting!!!), and mini pizzas. It was quite a combination but what fun we had!!! Next time I think I will only give them $1 because we had quite a bit of leftovers and who wants to eat ramen noodles the next day?!
